Lean On
Their harmonies fell into place, and JC smiled, because it never got boring with the guys, but it wasn't always this easy. Justin could be a real bitch to match pitch with, and Chris sometimes went high while he sometimes went low. But from the first rehearsal, his voice had blended smoothly with Tim's, and there had just been no struggle at all, no strain on his vocals, no needing to cover his ear to hear himself against the lower, rougher timbre of the man smiling encouragingly at him.
His eyes were slipping closed - they always did, when he was hitting it like this, but he caught a flash of Tim's grin, and he couldn't help but return it.
"Does she know?" JC asked, tilting his head back under the warm pressure of Tim's lips at the side of his neck.
"Does she need to?"
The song soared to an end and JC shook his head, the curls damp and unruly on his face. Tim clapped him on the back, and his eyes were crinkling with pleasure, and JC knew his were doing the same. He let himself be pulled into a haphazard, one-armed embrace - the cameras were pulling back for a long shot, and the guys were smiling at the pair of them, because it really had kicked some ass.
"So, tonight?" Tim murmured, and his breath was warm on JC's face, and JC didn't even have to say yes.
